Versato® Block transparent thick acrylic (also known as plexiglass) is extra thick clear plastic with beautiful optical purity. Block acrylic can be ordered completely cut-to-size in the webshop. Acrylic block material is standard available from stock in the thicknesses 25mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 80mm, 90mm, and 100mm thick. Acrylic is known for its excellent characteristics, it is basically 100% colourless, lightweight, rigid, practically unbreakable, and easy to fabricate. Acrylic is, therefore, better than glass in several respects. With a light transmission of 92%, it is also extremely crystal clear. Block acrylic is weather-resistant, UV-stable, and does not yellow, so this material can be used outdoors without any problems.
Thickness tolerance thick acrylic
Versato® Block transparent thick acrylic is a cast plastic and therefore has a thickness tolerance of 0.4mm +/- 10% of the nominal thickness. This means that, for example, a block of 50 mm thick can deviate more than 5 mm in thickness. We can measure blocks in advance for thickness or mill (calibrate) for thickness, but the surface is no longer high-gloss. We offer this additional service to our business customers. Please contact our sales department.
PyraSied has Versato® acrylic block standard in stock in thicknesses from 25 up to 100 mm thick. Sheets in these thicknesses can be ordered to size from 35x35mm each. The maximum sheet size depends on the sheet thickness. Block up to 30mm thick has a sheet size 3050x2030mm. 40 to 70 mm thick: 3000x2000mm and 80 – 100 mm thick: 2050x1250mm. The thicknesses 110, 120, 160, and 180 mm can be ordered per full sheet of 2050×1250 mm via our sales department. Thicker material is produced on request with a delivery time and minimum purchase subject to change.
Acrylic block is often used as staircase steps, aquarium walls, signage, floors, balconies, displays, sight glasses, lids, and more. Take a look at our reference projects for some examples of applications with our materials.

There are two main types of acrylic, cast and extruded acrylic. An advantage of cast acrylic is that it is easy to produce in small quantities, which offers flexibility. Extruded acrylic has the advantage that it hardly knows any thickness tolerance.
Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
