PyraSied has solid black acrylic (PLEXIGLAS®) sheets in stock in cast acrylic (GS). An advantage of GS is that it is easy to produce in small quantities and therefore we have many different thicknesses in stock. Extruded acrylic is produced on a continuous basis, which makes it cheaper than cast acrylic. XT acrylic has barely any thickness tolerance. Depending on the application and the desired material characteristics, choose a solid black cast acrylic (can be ordered on this page) or solid black extruded acrylic.

    Stock Solid black acrylic/Plexiglas

PyraSied has solid black PLEXIGLAS® in stock in thicknesses from 1 to 30 mm thick in gloss and two-sided satin. The maximum sheet size of the material depends on the chosen variant.

    Greencast® 100% recycled black acrylic

We offer more and more types of our cast acrylic in Greencast®. This cast acrylic (PLEXIGLAS®/ PMMA) is made from 100% recycled pre- and post-consumer acrylic. It is indistinguishable from standard cast acrylic and has the same excellent material properties. From the colour black, we now have Greencast® recycled black in stock in 3 to 10 mm thickness with a glossy surface.

The acrylic sheets in black can be used for many different applications. It can be used for signage, awards, wall cladding and retail design for example. For inspiration, please take a look at our Acrylic Community.

    Frequently Asked Questions
    What is acrylic/PLEXIGLAS®?

Acrylic (pmma) is the plastic that is also known as PLEXIGLAS®. Our own brand of acrylic is called Versato®. Acrylic is in the basis 100% colourless, light weight, rigid, practically unbreakable, easy to fabricate and is therefore better than glass in some respects. Acrylic is weather proof, UV stable and does not yellow.

What is the difference between cast acrylic and extruded acrylic?

There are two main types of acrylic, cast and extruded acrylic. An advantage of cast acrylic is that it is easy to produce in small quantities, which offers flexibility. Extruded acrylic has the advantage that it hardly knows any thickness tolerance.

When do you choose for acrylic and when for polycarbonate?

Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
