Precision acrylic Hesaglas® by supplier Topacryl is very thin cast acrylic (also known as PLEXIGLAS®) with barely any thickness tolerance. Therefore these sheets are perfect to be used in maquettes and model building. Precision acrylic is also often used as glass for in watches (Hesaliet), lighting fixtures, infrared filters, screens, optical filters and front panels. Hesaglas® can be ordered in more than 20 colours in thicknesses 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.7mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.1mm, 1.2mm, 1.3mm, 1.35mm, 1.5mm, 1.8mm and 2mm. Hesaglas® is available with a gloss surface as standard, but there are a few variants available in light matt, matt or strong matt.
This material is produced in Europe by Topacryl and meets strict quality demands. It has, for cast acrylic characteristics, especially thin thickness tolerance and it is optically pure. Hesaglas® is the old brand name for Hesaglas®. On request, Hesaglas® can be ordered with a minimum order quantity with a higher thermal or chemical resistance.
We also have special black/red Hesaglas® precision acrylic, this plexiglass is infrared permeable. Ideal for designing black and white or infrared-sensitive colour cameras. Note that infrared LEDs will remain visible at night.
Hesaglas® sheets are on stock in more than 20 colours (also fluor colours) in thicknesses 0.5 – 2mm. Hesaglas® sheets can only be ordered per full sheet via our webshop. We cannot cut the materials to size. This is due to the fragility of the material, it is too thin to cut. For business customers, it is possible to order laser-cut-to-size Hesaglas® sheets via sales@pyrasied.nl with a minimum purchase. We will charge fabrication costs for the laser machine. Are you looking for thin polycarbonate? View our stock of thin polycarbonate sheets. Polycarbonate can be ordered cut-to-size in 0.75mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm.
The Hesaglas® sheets are very thin and are perfect to be used for maquettes/model building. The sheets can also be used for (lighting) fixtures. Lighting fixtures, maquettes/model building, hesalite sight glasses, watch glass, laser scanner filter (black/red Hesaglas® 2999), LED protection, medical applications, lab equipment protection, light filters, diving glasses, eye protection glass, guitar plectra and security camera glass.

Acrylic (pmma) is the plastic that is also known as PLEXIGLAS®. Our own brand of acrylic is called Versato®. Acrylic is in the basis 100% colourless, light weight, rigid, practically unbreakable, easy to fabricate and is therefore better than glass in some respects. Acrylic is weather proof, UV stable and does not yellow.
There are two main types of acrylic, cast (GS) and extruded (XT) acrylic. An advantage of cast acrylic is that it is easy to produce in small quantities, which offers flexibility. Extruded acrylic has the advantage that it hardly knows any thickness tolerance.
Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
