Greencast® is an extremely high-quality cast acrylic entirely made from 100% recycled pre- and post-consumer acrylic, now available in recycled black acrylic. Greencast® is a cast acrylic with all the excellent qualities of cast PMMA. Greencast® can now also be ordered in a number of transparent colours, such as red (also translucent), light blue and blue, green and glass look. Cast acrylic is optically more crystal clear than extruded acrylic and is available in more different colours and thicknesses. Due to the casting production method, the sheet has some thickness tolerance.
Greencast® is the most sustainable and especially green choice in the acrylic world. Recycled clear acrylic is crystal clear sheet material and very easy to work with. The material is also colourfast and UV resistant. The main advantage of this material is that it can be recycled time and time again and it can be reused. It is a circular material. PyraSied can, of course, take back the material after use to recycle it again. So, all good reasons to choose recycled Greencast®!
Greencast® black acrylic is the durable, circular variant of the solid black cast acrylic. Do you prefer non-recycled acrylic? Then you can opt for standard cast acrylic.
Recycled black acrylic is currently in stock in thicknesses of 3 up to 10mm with a gloss surface (74881 black). The 3mm thick sheet is also available with a two-sided satin finish (64881 black). The maximum sheet size is 3050x2030mm for 3, 4 and 5mm and 3020x2020mm for 6, 8 and 10mm. PyraSied has Greencast® 100% recycled cast acrylic in stock in other variants such as clear, satin, white, coloured and opal. These variants are standard in stock and can be ordered cut to size in various thicknesses via the webshop or e-mail.
Greencast® can also be produced in other colours, thicknesses and types such as metallic, translucent or satin. There is a minimum order quantity for customer-specific productions. You can ask our Sales & Support department (sales@pyrasied.nl) for more information.
Greencast® is a cast acrylic with all the good characteristics of cast PMMA. This allows recycled acrylic to be used for the same applications as normally cast (not recycled) acrylic. The material is particularly suitable for projects where sustainability is very important. Greencast® is often used in shop interiors, stand- and set constructions and the signing branch as secondary windows, glazing, showcases, displays, protective covers, furniture and wall presentations for example. This material is less suitable for very demanding optical applications such as light guide plates. For this, we advise using standard cast acrylic.
Please take a look at our Acrylic Community for some examples of applications with transparent acrylic.
Acrylic is very easy to fabricate. Fabrication possibilities: cutting, milling, laser-cutting, oven bending, bonding, drilling, faceting, polishing, sanding and printing. Do you want more information about how to fabricate acrylic yourself? Take a look at our acrylic fabrications page. Here you can find tips and tricks about the fabrication possibilities of acrylic. These fabrications can be performed by PyraSied if desired. We deliver from our excellently equipped workshop – where high-tech machinery and traditional craftsmanship ensure optimum results, completely tailored to your drawing or design.
Greencast® is the official brand name of recycled cast acrylic. Well-known brand names for acrylic (PMMA) are PLEXIGLAS®, Versato®, Altuglas® and Astariglas®.

PyraSied has committed itself for more than three years to taking back acrylic for recycling. The remains and the used acrylic are collected in a large bin and then sent to the recycling plant. The depolymerization process starts there.
Molecular chains are cracked by the heating process. The PMMA (acrylic) residues are hereby returned to a liquid state.
The next step is distillation. The impurities are separated, whereby the original monomer is obtained. After this R-MMA remains: Recycled Methyl Methacrylate monomer. This is used to make new recycled acrylic sheets.
The result: fully recycled acrylic sheets made from 100% post-and pre-consumer acrylic. We call this material Greencast®.
A dye is added to the coloured sheets. This gives the sheet a different colour. No colourant is added to clear sheets.
Often, the quality of recycled material is less than the original. This is not the case with acrylic. The quality is the same as the quality of normal cast acrylic. In addition, the cost price of Greencast® is the same as the "virgin" variant. The process to produce Greencast® and standard cast acrylic is the same, but the raw material is different. That is why we offer Greencast® for the exact same price.
We are regularly asked if Greencast® is really "recycled" and that it is not a fake. We can prove that this is really not the case. Our supplier, Madreperla, is an ISO certified company. This means that the material flow is recorded in detail for the purpose of, among other things, quality controls. In addition, Madreperla has enough R-MMA in stock to make Greencast®. Madreperla, therefore, has no reason to make Greencast® from "virgin" PMMA.
No, the properties are completely the same. Greencast® is less suitable for very demanding applications such as light guide plates. Furthermore, the material is suitable for the same applications.
Yes, this is possible with a minimum order quantity. Please contact our sales department for further information. You can contact us via Sales@pyrasied.nl.
Greencast® acrylic is easy to fabricate. You can saw acrylic, but you can also mill and even laser-cut it. Possible fabrications are: hot bending, glueing, drilling, faceting, polishing, sanding and printing.
PyraSied can perform these fabrications if you wish. We deliver from our excellently equipped workshop - where our high-tech machine park and traditional craftsmanship ensure optimum results, completely customized according to drawing or design. If you want to fabricate acrylic yourself, look at our site under fabrications. There you will find more information about fabricating acrylic.
Acrylic is very easy to maintain with the use of a soft microfiber cloth and a mild household cleaner. The use of brushes, sponges and abrasive cleaning agents is not recommended, as this can cause tiny scratches. Accumulation of these types of scratches ultimately gives a dull result. However, this can be remedied by polishing the scratched surface. It is also possible to fill in light scratches with our VuPlex plastic cleaner, for example. For more information, see our cleaning instructions.
