The Greencast® Pearl colour collection consists of 4 pastel colours with a Mother of Pearl (Nacré) effect. The pearl collection is made from 100% recycled acrylic. The price and quality are the same as the virgin variant, but it is a more sustainable alternative. With its beautiful glow and optical structural colour, Mother of Pearl is the perfect material to give your creations an elegant vintage look. The material is made of opaque acrylic (Plexiglas®) which is not see-through and which also does not transmit light. Mother-of-pearl shades are currently very trendy in the fashion and design world. We have included the four most popular mother-of-pearl shades in our range.

The Greencast® Pearl collection is 3mm thick and consists of 4 colours with a glossy surface. The maximum sheet size of this collection is 2030x1540mm. All types can be ordered per full sheet. The sheet can be cut to size into smaller sheets. Do you want to use Pearl acrylic for the laser machine? Then take a look at www.lasersizes.com. We have been fabricating acrylic for the architecture, retail, lighting and high-tech industry for over 35 years. Greencast® Pearl can be easily fabricated by any company or person with certain experience in fabricating acrylic. This means sawing, milling, laser-cutting, warm bending, vacuum forming, bonding, drilling, faceting, polishing, sanding and printing. PyraSied has committed itself for more than three years to taking back acrylic for recycling. The remains and the used acrylic are collected in a large bin and then sent to the recycling plant. The depolymerization process starts there.
Molecular chains are cracked by the heating process. The PMMA (acrylic) residues are hereby returned to a liquid state.
The next step is distillation. The impurities are separated, whereby the original monomer is obtained. After this R-MMA remains: Recycled Methyl Methacrylate monomer. This is used to make new recycled acrylic sheets.
The result: fully recycled acrylic sheets made from 100% post-and pre-consumer acrylic. We call this material Greencast®.
A dye is added to the coloured sheets. This gives the sheet a different colour. No colourant is added to clear sheets.
We are regularly asked if Greencast® is really "recycled" and that it is not a fake. We can prove that this is really not the case. Our supplier, Madreperla, is an ISO certified company. This means that the material flow is recorded in detail for the purpose of, among other things, quality controls. In addition, Madreperla has enough R-MMA in stock to make Greencast®. Madreperla, therefore, has no reason to make Greencast® from "virgin" PMMA.
No, the properties are completely the same. Greencast® is less suitable for very demanding applications such as light guide plates. Furthermore, the material is suitable for the same applications.
Acrylic is very easy to fabricate. Fabrication possibilities: cutting, milling, laser-cutting, bonding, drilling, faceting, polishing, sanding and printing. Unfortunately, Greencast® cannot be bent by draping. Clear Greencast® turns slightly yellow on the ends as soon as you bend it in an oven. However, line bending or tempering is no problem at all.
