Cleaning and maintenance
The material is not suitable for outdoor applications because it is not UV-resistant. This means that the material will yellow.
For every application, a different thickness is needed:
The variants that we show on our website are all on stock. However, we do not always have all the thicknesses on stock. We have most of the time one, two or even three thicknesses on stock of our designs. The sheets that we are having on stock, can be ordered per full sheet. It is also possible to order full pallets or to compose your own mix-pallet with various designs.
It is possible for us to produce different types, colours, thicknesses or measurements for you. For a customer specific production, a minimum order size applies. The maximum sheet size is always 1220 x 3000 mm. Prices, delivery times and possibilities are available on request.
Yes, this is possible! If you have clear images, we can ask our manufacturer to recreate the stone type. A lab sample will be created. Prices, delivery times and possibilities are available on request.

It is possible for FTS to become damaged by scratching. Light scratches can easily be repaired using sanding and polishing techniques. For very light scratches polishing with a paste as used for cars should be sufficient and lead to good results. Heavier scratches could need sanding and then repolishing.
Recently we got quite impressed by a multifunctional cleaner called VuPlex. VuPlex gives an protective wax-like microlayer, which appaers to be indeed a very effective method for prevention of any chemical influences. Also this wax-like layer makes scratches less visible. The surface of the material becomes smoother, softer and very easy to clean because this wax-like layer is water- and dirt repellent. And, moreover, also antistatic.
So, we advise to use this cleaner for (preventive) maintainance of the Faux Translucent Stone.
Recently we got quite impressed by a multifunctional cleaner called VuPlex. We did several test comparing the results of traditional cleaners versus the results obtained by VuPlex.The use of VuPlex has distinct advantages over the traditional approach with mild soap etcetera. Vuplex is first a cleaner, an effective cleaner and easy to use one, removing also quite difficult stains. But it also contains a wax-like material. This additive seals micro-pores. We investigated the Faux Stones Series of couse intensely with cheap red wine, curries etcetera. We found that in some cases -with overnight exposure- we had to use Scotch Brite-just a few seconds – to remove a superficial effect.

Faux Translucent Stone should never be laser-cut. Do not try it!!
Watercutting however seems an excellent strategy, especially for complicated work. We have ourselves no experience with it yet. As soon as we have executed appropriate experiments with a watercutting machine we will complement this paragraph with more information about this approach.
The challenge of this hotel design for Amsterdam's Fletcher Hotel is mainly due to the fact that the building is round. The round shapes in both the reception desk and the bar in the restaurant show the designer's vision of luxury, warmth and homeliness.
